Our first production

Blues for Mister Charlie is James Baldwin's second play, a social commentary drama in three acts. It was first produced and published in 1964. The play is dedicated to the memory of Medgar Evers, his widow and children, and it is loosely based on the Emmett Till murder that occurred in Money, Mississippi, before the Civil Rights Movement began.

We are aggressively pursuing other local agencies and organizations to build programming around this event. This philosphy of "continuing the conversation" will be the blueprint for everything we do. For this project I am looking to create pathways in the community for people to walk after seeing the play. We will have panel discussions at L!ve Cafe following each weekend of performances, reading lists at the local libraries, and more!
